How AcreCompass handles visitor data, cookies, and third-party tracking.

Information We Collect
AcreCompass does not collect personal information directly from visitors. We do not require account registration, and we do not ask you to submit forms with personal details.
However, our analytics and affiliate partner services may automatically collect certain information when you visit our site, including:
- Cookies — small data files stored in your browser
- IP addresses — used for approximate geographic location and fraud prevention
- Device information — browser type, operating system, screen resolution
- Pages visited — which pages you view, how long you stay, and your navigation path
- Referral source — the website or search engine that directed you to AcreCompass
This data is collected through Google Tag Manager (container ID GTM-PRQ8SBTV), which loads analytics and tracking tags on our pages. Additionally, Impact.com tracking pixels are present on pages that contain affiliate links to lending partners.
How Information Is Used
The information collected by our analytics and affiliate services is used for two purposes:
- Analytics — to understand traffic patterns, identify popular content, and improve the quality and relevance of our articles, guides, and comparison tools.
- Affiliate tracking — to attribute referrals to lending partners so that AcreCompass can earn commissions when visitors click affiliate links and complete qualifying actions (such as submitting a loan application).
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Data collected through analytics is used solely to operate and improve this site. Affiliate tracking data is shared only with the specific affiliate network involved in a given referral (such as Impact.com or FlexOffers) and only for the purpose of commission attribution.
Third-Party Services
AcreCompass uses the following third-party services that may collect data from visitors:
- Google Analytics (loaded via Google Tag Manager) — provides website traffic analytics. Google Privacy Policy
- Impact.com — affiliate tracking network used to manage referrals to lending partners. Impact.com Privacy Policy
- FlexOffers — affiliate network through which we maintain relationships with certain lenders. FlexOffers Privacy Policy
Each of these services operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them to understand how your data may be collected and used by these third parties.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
AcreCompass and its third-party partners use cookies and similar tracking technologies. These fall into two categories:
First-party cookies
Analytics cookies set through Google Tag Manager to track page views, session duration, and general site usage. These help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve our content and navigation.
Third-party cookies
Affiliate tracking cookies set by Impact.com and FlexOffers when you click an affiliate link. These cookies allow the affiliate network to attribute your visit back to AcreCompass so that we can earn a referral commission. These cookies typically expire after 30 to 90 days, depending on the affiliate program.
How to manage cookies
You can disable or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block all cookies, block only third-party cookies, or clear cookies when you close your browser. Note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of some features on this and other websites.
Affiliate Link Tracking
AcreCompass earns revenue through affiliate commissions. When you click an outbound link to a lending partner, the affiliate network handling that relationship (Impact.com or FlexOffers) may set a cookie in your browser to track the referral. If you subsequently complete a qualifying action — such as submitting a loan application or funding a loan — the affiliate network attributes that action to AcreCompass, and we earn a commission.
This tracking is standard practice across affiliate marketing and is how AcreCompass sustains its operations. The referral tracking does not increase the cost of any product or service you receive from the lender.
For full details on our affiliate relationships and how compensation works, see our Advertiser Disclosure.
